Trentham Events

Trentham Events - What's on

Trentham hosts the unique Spudfest held annually. More frequently, there is the Trentham Farmers' Market (third Saturday of the month) and the Trentham Market (fourth Sunday of the month).

With a cool climate, rich red volcanic soil and plenty of rainfall, Trentham is a great place to grow potatoes.  And this affinity with the humble spud is celebrated each year in one of the more unusual festivals in Australia - Spudfest.

This is the festival that allows the usually shy, humble and bashful potato to burst free from life underground and bask in the limelight.  Trentham is transformed into a world of potatoes, games, displays, arts and entertainment, all inspired by the carbohydrate-rich vegie.

The fabulous Trentham Farmers' Market (third Saturday of the month) sells regional produce from 9am to 1pm. The Maker's Market, alongside the Cosmopolitan Hotel, is also held on the same day, selling hand-crafted items.

Trentham Market (fourth Sunday of the month), conducted at the old railway station in Victoria Street from 9am until 2pm, offers a mixed bag of newly-made and baked products plus second-hand goods.

The Easter Art & Craft Show (Good Friday to Easter Monday) is an annual exhibition of photography, ceramics, embroidery and jewellery.
